Lord Saraswathi

🌷    According to ancient Indian literature, Saraswathi is the ruler of all the arts in the Universe. Word is also considered as the presiding goddess. 

🌷    Much information about this told in Bhagwath Purana and Padma Purana known as Divine literature.

Mother Saraswathi

🌷    Saraswathi looks very elegant. Is. divine. Wearing a white glowing saree and adorned with golden and silvery jewellery. Seated on a white lotus flower. She has four arms. Carries a Veena. Holding "Veda" in left hand. a necklace called "Nawaguna maala" in right hand. A white swan is said to be the vehicle of lord Saraswathi. 

🌷    The colour white symbolize purity, truth, knowledge and divine wisdom. Water on which her lotus seat is erected symbolize unstoppable flow of knowledge and studies.

🌷    Saraswathi as the mother of all arts likes Music, Dance, Arts, Vedas, Grammar, Scripts, Speech,  Wisdom, Gandharvas, Literature, Songs, Languages etc. Called she is mentioned as first goddess in Hinduism. Saraswathi is the lovely wife of great Maha Brahma, who is called the creator of the Universe in Vedic literature.

🌷    It is said that this lady, who is considered to reside in thw world of Brahma ( Brahma Loka), creates tones and ragas in the art of music. In indian literature, Saraswathi and Lord Ganesha take the first place in all artictic activities. It symbolizes wisdom and art.

🌷    According to Hindu beliefs, it was customary for teachers to make offerings to this goddess Saraswathi while start teaching arts and all studies to their students. It is also seen today. It is believed that this will create a good respect and bond towards learning for the students.

🌷    Hindus celebrate the festival named "Wasantha Panchami" and also known as Saraswathi pooja and Saraswathi Jayanthi. That is fifth day of spring season when mark the day by helping young children learn how to write the letters of the alphabet. 


🌷     Saraswathi is considered as one of the geddesses of the "Thridevi" concept in Hindu literature. That is the three goddesses Maha Lakshmi, Parvathi and Saraswathi. 

🌷     It is said in ancient Vedic texes that Mother Saraswathi has eight forms called Avatharas. Those forms are,  Gayathri, Savithri, Vidya, Adhi Vidya, Brahmi, Kaali, Vachika, and Hansani.

🌷     In Buddhist culture (Mahayana), Mother Saraswathi is considered as the consort of "Manju Sri" Bodhisathva who waiting for be a Buddha on future.
